Founded in 2017, the Chinese American Association of Metropolitan New York (CAAMNY) is a IRS credited 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Dedicated to enhancing awareness of community service among Chinese-Americans and fostering leadership skills in Chinese-American youth, the association is devoted to cultural propagation, philanthropy, and facilitating communication between the Chinese-American community and mainstream American society.

Ying Song
Founder, Chair of Board

Ying is a teacher and educational consultant who currently resides in both New York City and
Morristown, New Jersey. As an immigrant who arrived in the United States in 1996, Ying understands firsthand the challenges of immigration. Grateful for the support and assistance she has received from her surrounding communities, Ying is committed to giving back.
While living in Long Island, Ying actively served as a devoted member of the PTA at her children's school and as a board member of the Chinese-American Association of Great Neck. Upon moving to the city, she dedicated her time to volunteering at The McDonald House of New York, where she organized impactful events to support families with children undergoing cancer treatment.
In 2017, Ying and a group of passionate volunteers came together to establish The Chinese-American Association of Metropolitan New York (CAAMNY) with a clear mission: to promote awareness of community service among Chinese-Americans and foster leadership skills among Chinese-American youth. Over the years, CAAMNY has successfully organized numerous events, engaging hundreds of families.
Honored to once again serve as the Chair of the Board, Ying anticipates dedicating herself to
the fulfillment of CAAMNY's mission.
Jessica Xiaoqing Ma
Board Member, Treasurer, Co-Chair of Community Outreach Committee

As a first-generation immigrant, Jessica understands the significance of preserving her Chinese culture and traditions, recognizing the importance of passing them on to future generations. Her love for New York City's vibrant, multicultural environment has shaped her into a passionate advocate for cultural exchange and integration. She believes everyone, especially fellow immigrants, should make their voices heard through various channels in order to foster a thriving community. Jessica has actively participated in various community initiatives since her arrival in NYC in 2000. She volunteers at Reading Partner NYC, school parents association, senior centers and local elections, just to name a few.
Jessica Xiaoqing Ma is a founding member of the Chinese American Association of Metropolitan New York (CAAMNY). She is the treasurer and also leads the Community Outreach Committee on the Board.
Mo Zhou
Board Member, Treasurer, Co-Chair of Marketing Committee

Mo Zhou had lived in Canada for 12 years, earned a Master of Finance degree from the University of Toronto. Mo used to work in Treasury, Asset-Liability Management in a major Canadian in Toronto for 8 years before she moved to New York.
Over the years, Mo has received tremendous helps and supports from fellow Chinese community in various sectors in North America. She has been actively involved in community activities, kids’ school Parents Association, fundraising events and other charitable endeavors. Believing in the power of unity within the diverse cultures, she encourages the Chinese American community to come together, involve in social activities, and build a better community for everyone. She is honored to join CAAMNY and sees the opportunity to consolidate the strength of Chinese American community, promote social responsibility, and give back.
Mengdan Yu
Director of the Youth Program

Mengdan Yu, born in Beijing, China, is nevertheless a global citizen, having lived and studied across Asia, Europe, and the United States. With her firsthand experience in diverse cultures, Mengdan has a deep appreciation for cross-border understanding, adaptability, and collaboration. She has made Manhattan her home for almost 20 years as it is truly a city that belongs to the world.
In addition to her professional life working for the banking industry, Mengdan has actively engaged in championing Asian American advocacy activities, especially to empower Asian youth to become future leaders through community service. With a strong commitment to fostering civic engagement and personal growth, Mengdan hopes to help her neighborhood communities create opportunities for Asian youth to develop leadership skills, build meaningful connections, and make a lasting impact. Through mentorship and innovative programming, Mengdan is dedicated to inspiring the next generation to embrace responsibility, empathy, and teamwork.
Annie Zhang
Co-Chair of Marketing Committee

Annie is a professor residing in New York City. As a first-generation immigrant, she has been in NYC for 15 years. She has also been a member and treasurer in Columbia University Chinese Students and Scholars Association (the largest Chinese student and scholar group in the United States) for 2 years. During this time, she has participated in hosting the Chinese New Year Galas and organizing forums and lectures from famous people. During the past decade, Annie has met Chinese people with various backgrounds (faculty members at universities, employees in financial companies, immigrants at Chinatown, etc.). She has observed how Chinese people are being involved in the US society, tackling challenges, making impacts, and thriving in all areas. She looks forward to being a member of CAAMNY, working with the Chinese people and support the Chinese community in the NYC.
Iris Yin
Co-Chair of Community Outreach Committee

Yan worked at Shenzhen Business Daily and Shenzhen Press Group for decades. She lives in Long Island and Manhattan since coming to the United States in 2017. Yan is an active member in several public services and is committed to helping new immigrants integrate into the community.
